NMMS Exam Apply Online

NMMS Exam Notification 2017 Declared - National Means Cum Merit Scholarship Exam acronym as NMMS Exam is sponsored by Central Government and is conducted by the local educational authority to award (The amount of scholarship is proposed to be Rs.6000 per annum @Rs.500 per month.) 1,00,000 scholarships (from class IX till class XII for a maximum period of four years) to the gifted or meritorious students whose parental income is not more than Rs.1,50,000 per annul from all sources. 


Each State / UT shall have ×xed quota of scholarship which are decided on the basis of enrollment of students in Class VII and VIII in the State/UT concerned and population of children of concerned age group of class VII and VIII. The scheme would provide reservation to different categories of students as per the State / UT norms; as different States / UTs have their own norms of reservation. 

NMMS Exam Notification 2017 Declared

However, the total number of scholarships to a particular State/UT may be restricted to the allocation made by the Central Government. Important: Those State / UTs who are already conducting the examination for nominating the students for the national level (second stage) examination conducted by the NCERT. The same examination shall be used for selection of candidates for the award of Means-cum-Merit Scholarships in the State / UT.



National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme Exam Notification 2017 synoptically the method adopted by the Government to implement the scheme is as follows: Scholarship: Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of performance in examination to be held on 2017. in all revenue divisions in the state. 




Reservation: State reservation norms will be implemented for award of scholarships in each district (a caste certificate from Mandal Revenue Ocer has to be submitted by the candidate as proof in Original).

NMMS Eligibility: 

1. Candidate who scored at least 55% of marks in class VII examination and has been promoted to Class VIII for the academic session 2017. In respect of SC/ST candidate they should has secured at least 50% or equivalent grade i.e., B+ grade for all categories. 


2. Candidate is studying in Government /Zilla Parishad/ Municipal/private aided High School is only eligible to write the examination. 


3. Students, whose parental annual income is below Rs. 1,50,000/- from all sources is eligible to appear for the examination (an Income certificate from Mandal Revenue Ocher has to be submitted as proof In original), In case of Government employee salary certificated will be enough as a proof of income issued by the employer. 


4. The students studying VIII class in AP/ Gujarat Residential High Schools, AP/ Gujarat Social Welfare Residential Schools, AP/ Gujarat Tribal Welfare Residential High Schools, Government Ashram High Schools and Kasturba Residential Schools, Model schools with residential facility, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, Kendriya Vidyalayas and in Private unaided Schools are not eligible to appear for the Examinations. 


5. Candidate has also to submit the original caste certificated (issued by the MRO) to the Headmaster.


 6. Candidate has also to submit the Original VII class Pass Memo of Marks to the Headmaster. 


7. The candidates of Aadhaar districts shall have to furnish Aadhaar Number compulsorily, otherwise the application will be rejected

NTSE Exam Apply Online

NTSE 2017 – The National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is a national level exam conducted by National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) for awarding scholarships. The NCERT is conducting NTSE 2017 in two stages, wherein the stage 1 exam held on November 5, 6 and 13 and stage 2 examination on May 14, 2017. Class X students who wish to appear for NTSE 2017 can apply for the scholarship examination. The NTSE 2017 applications for stage 1 exam can be fileld from August 3 till the last date of applications as announced by each state and union territory. The NTSE 2017 scholarship will be awarded to the qualifying candidates on the basis of their performances in both the stages.

NTSE Syllabus

MAT (Mental Ability Test) shall contain questions from analogies, series, problem solving, reasoning, classification, figures, coding words, etc. The MAT test check the candidate's ability to think, reasoning and problem solving.

SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) shall contain questions from Science, Mathematics, history, geography, political science and economics. There will a Language comprehensive test also.




NTSE Scholarships

NTS Scholarship Disbursement Rules 2017-18 onwards : 

On the basis of NTSE Examination, 1000 scholarship are awarded each year. Out of which 15% are reserved for students belonging to the SC category, 7.5% for students belonging to ST category and 3% for Physically Challenged group of students. 

Amount of scholarship will be:

Scholarship of Rs.1250 per month for class XI and XII.Scholarship of Rs.2000/- per month for Undergraduates and Postgraduates students.Amount of Scholarship for Ph.D. be fixed accordance with the UGC norms.

New Rules for NTSE Scholarship Scheme from 2016-17 Session:

Awardees have to secure an aggregate of 60% marks or equivalent grade in order to be eligible for scholarship every year.A pass in all subjects for which a student is registered/appeared is necessary.Withdrawal in non core subjects as per institutional rules of exemption is considered for payment of scholarship.In view of online payment of scholarship to the awardee the stipulated time period is reduced from 24 months to 12 months.Students pursuing diploma or certificate courses will be provided scholarship, provided they are not employed.

Eligibility Criteria for NTSE

All students of Class X studying in recognized schools are eligible to appear for the Stage - 1 examination, conducted by the State/UT's, in which the schools are located.

Teachers, especially at the elementary level, must be very creative with their teaching styles. Not every child learns the same way, nor are they interested in the same things. It is difficult to keep the attention of 15-20 children under the age of ten. Classroom setup and design is a good way to get and keep the attention of students.


Workstations are a good way to encourage different types of learning. By allowing children a chance to choose which activities they want to participate in, children are taking control of their own education. At the elementary level, children are always learning and sometimes don't even know it. When I was in kindergarten, I can remember playing at the different stations in the classroom. 


One station was for gardening and we could plant seeds and check them every day to see how much they had grown. Another station in that classroom that sticks out in my mind is the arts and crafts station. There was a large array of crayons, markers, scissors, construction paper and building materials we could use to make pretty decorations to give to our parents for our homes.
